METALLICA: 'Rockline' Appearance Available For Streaming

October 23, 2008

METALLICA's Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett were guests on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" with host Bob Coburn this past Monday night (October 20). The program is now available for streaming in six parts at Metallica.com.

According to JAM! Showbiz, METALLICA has returned to No. 1 on the Canadian album chart after being kicked out of the top spot last week.

The band's latest effort, "Death Magnetic", accomplished the feat on sales of 9,600, according to figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

The album has now sold close to 200,000 copies in Canada since its release six weeks ago.

"Death Magnetic" sold 51,000 copies in the United States for the week ending October 19, bringing the album's U.S. sales total to 1.16 million. The CD currently sits at No. 4 on The Bilboard 200 chart.

METALLICA officially kicked off its first North American indoor arena tour in almost four years last night (Tuesday, October 21) at the Jobing Arena in Glendale, Arizona. Support at the show came from THE SWORD and DOWN.

Although METALLICA has played European festivals for the last couple of summers, and a few one-off U.S. shows, the band has not traveled extensively in North America since touring behind 2003's "St. Anger" album.
